Cassie's Wind Energy Report

Intro/history

Americans use the second most amount of wind energy. The first windmills were used in Persia. They looked a bit like egg beaters, they were used to grind grain and draw water from wells. In ancient Egypt they used wind power for sailing boats down the Nile river.

How it works

Inside the turbine a generator converts the movement into electricity. The blades convert the wind's energy into a rotational energy called toque. When strong winds blow against a turbine the force causes the rotor blade to turn pretty quickly

Wind farms

An area of land with a group of energy-producing windmills for wind turbines.
Renewable Energy

Is a source of energy that won't run out unlike fossil fuels which will eventually run out

Countries using Wind power

New Zealand,America,India,Germany,France, Spain,The United Kingdom,China,Denmark and Italy.

The Drawbacks

People think there are ugly and they don't like to look at them and so people are concerned that flying animals are dieing from them.

Conclusion

So that's all you need to know about wind energy.
